The Challenge

A 1.2 million sq ft shopping centre with 200+ retail units, food courts, cinema, and multi-storey car parks required an Enhanced Tier SSP. With 15 million annual visitors, multiple anchor tenants, and complex lease arrangements, the challenge was creating a unified security approach across diverse stakeholders while maintaining the open, welcoming retail environment essential for commercial success.

Our Solution

Created a multi-layered Site Specific Plan addressing the unique challenges of retail environments including hostile vehicle mitigation for pedestrianised areas, lockdown procedures coordinated across 200+ individual units, evacuation routes accounting for mobility-impaired visitors, training programmes for centre management and individual retailer staff, integration of existing CCTV and access control systems into unified monitoring, and protocols for managing seasonal peaks including Christmas trading periods.
